The SARCHi SA-UK Bilateral Chair in the Digital Humanities, with a focus on Digital Media Sociology, based in the Centre for Film and Media Studies at the University of Cape Town, seeks a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to interdisciplinary research projects that leverage digital tools and methodologies to advance humanities scholarship. The fellow will work closely with the chair, academic staff and post-graduate students, assisting with ongoing research, developing new projects and contributing to the growth of the Digital Humanities programme in the faculty and beyond.
This is a full-time position (approximately 40 hours per week, starting immediately) for a duration of 12 months and the candidate should be based in Cape Town as they are expected to work on the UCT upper campus for 2-3 days per week.
Candidates should hold a PhD in a related social science, humanities discipline; or Computer Science or Information Systems. Applicants with dissertations under examination will not be considered. You must have graduated/ the PhD examination process must have been concluded. This position is funded by the National Research Foundation (NRF).
